DAZ 3D Model Pro
The new bundle of three DAZ products makes it possible to create 3D figures and bring them into Photoshop via the Photoshop Bridge plugin.Earlier this year Digital Art Zone (DAZ), a veteran developer of 3D application software and add-ons, created something of a stir when it announced that it was making four of its Mac and Windows 3D creation products — DAZ Studio 4 Pro, Bryce 7 Pro, Hexagon 2.5 and 3D Photoshop Bridge — available for free download until the end of February. This has now been extended until the end of March, so if you haven’t already taken advantage of this, just a few weeks remain.
The 3D Model Pro Suite isn’t free but at $149.99 it nevertheless represents a drop from the usual retail value of $230. Included is the Victoria 5 Pro Bundle, with Victoria being what DAZ claims is “the most widely used female 3D model.” No wonder she looks familar. The Genesis Starter Bundle isn’t so much a single character, but instead a starting point from which a wide variety of humanoid figures can be made. It includes such items as the the Genesis Evolution Morph Bundle, Hampton Hair and Troll for Genesis — John Carter, beware! Finally, the Ethnicity for Genesis Bundle includes nine ethnic faces and 18 partial face shapes. Photoshop connectivity for the 3D Model Pro Suite is provided by the free DAZ Studio 4 Pro, which includes the 3D Photoshop Bridge plugin. More information about 3D Model Pro Suite is available on the DAZ site.
